RideAbout Saddle specifications: The details behind these spec's is what makes "RideAbout" saddles superior to other Aussie brands!
Leather: Drum infused with oil and dye. Unlike the Vegetable Tanned leather used by many of our competitors, who only spray color onto the surface of the leather after it is tanned, RideAbout leather contains oils and dyes that are fused into the leather during the tanning process. This occurs in a machine that is specially made for this unique tanning process. The result is an amazingly soft supple leather that requires minimal break in time and insures extended life and maximum riding comfort.
The Endurance saddles are made with Nubuck finished. This provides a slight roughout to the topside of the leather. This finish provides the leather with a soft finish that adds more grip for the rider.
Seat:
Suspended away from the wood/steel tree with nylon webbing.
4” deep cantle
Covered with softie friction harness leather. This leather gives the seat a much better feel while providing tackiness to help keep the rider in the seat. The result is increased comfort and safety.
Weight:
Varies by saddle but the Champion, Marshal Poley, Premium Outback and Barcoo all are about 25 to 29lbs fitted. The Endurance is 18lbs fitted. NOTE: These measurements are based on 17” saddles.

Contact Length:
This is the length of contact between the horse and the saddle. Horses with shorter backs need saddles with shorter contact length. Aussie saddles provide short contact length. The Champion and Premium Outback have approximately 21 inches of contact length, the Barcoo and Marshal Poley each have approx. 24 inches of contact length and the Endurance saddle has approximately 18 inches of contact length. NOTE: These measurements are based on 17” saddles.
